Current research projects, for which additional students are being sought at the Master's and Ph.D. levels, include:
- Fundamental assessment of sorptive phosphorus removal in constructed treatment wetland effluents;
- Treatment of landfill leachate using constructed fringe wetlands;
- Feasibility of use of zebra mussel shells as a sorptive medium for phosphorus removal;
- A Canadian on-site zero-discharge wastewater treatment system;
- Biosolids reduction techniques for industrial wastewater treatment applications; and
- Low impact development for stormwater control in land-restricted lakeside villages.
Additional projects may be available through the Fudan (Shanghai, PRC)-Queen's Co-laboratory of Environmental Research on Urbanization, and the Centre for Sustainable Watersheds (Portland, ON).
